AutoCAD Technician

Clover Leaf is looking for a AutoCAD Technican to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and individually. The main focus of the work will be evaluating and formatting existing drawing sets to make them to scale and properly layered. The final product must be able to be integrated into estimating software for whole building takeoffs and scalable evaluations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will serve as the AutoCAD Technician on projects that will require an understanding of the software including AutoCAD.
  • Uses computer aided engineering and design software to prepare detailed design plans, and engineering documents for facilities related improvement projects, including details, equipment schedules and quantity estimates as necessary. Work performed in accordance to local jurisdictional requirements.
  • Familiarity in the use of AutoCad, or willingness to learn software in the preparation of projects that include plan, profile and cross sections.
  • Works under supervision and direction of the project manager to prepare finished drawings from very complex sketches, notes, layouts, details and verbal instructions.
  • Utilizes the standards library effectively to maintain a high level of productivity. May suggest and/or develop additions or propose changes to the existing standards library. Work with others in translation of AutoCAD to MicroStation.
  • Works within designated department but may be required to perform work from other departments or with more than one AutoCAD Operator.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed


  • A minimum Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum three years of experience drafting civil engineering projects with either experience using AutoCAD or willingness to learn the software.
  • Must be willing to become proficient in the use of AutoCAD and with a working knowledge and understanding of facilities type designs, and must be willing to keep up with current versions of AutoCAD.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCad and Land Desktop software and conversions between AutoCad and MicroStation is preferred.
  • Self motivated with initiative.
  • Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Eligibility for a DOE clearance, which includes U.S. Citizenship.
