Explosives Training Specialist

Clover Leaf is looking for an explosives training specialist to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who can work as part of a team and individually. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This training specialist will support the High Explosives Safety Training Program at a DOE National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), which includes multiple divisions. The selected candidate will be deployed to the WFO training team which is a part of the Nuclear and High Hazard Operations, NHHO-TR group. The training specialist will develop and implement compliant training programs for facility specific, and institutional High Explosives training.

The training specialist will assure all training material developed is compliant and complete with regulatory drivers such as P781 Conduct of Training Manual, P101-8 Explosives Safety, DOE Explosives Safety Manual, DOE-STD-1212.2012 

Required Qualifications

  • Position typically requires a BA/BS, MA/MS and a minimum of six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience with High Explosives and demonstrated ability to develop training material. 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply the five phases of the systematic approach to training (SAT) process to training program development.
  • Demonstrated ability of adult learning theory, principles, and application.
  • Ability to develop a formal qualification program for key facility and high explosives positions.
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders (process subject matter experts and federal oversight personnel) to assure training programs satisfactorily meet customer needs and regulatory drivers.
  • Ability to review technical procedures with subject matter experts and identify correct training rigor that will assure worker’s success.
  • Knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures pertaining to training.
  • Working knowledge of P101-8 Explosives Safety, DOE Explosives Safety Manual, DOE-STD- 1212.2012 
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and customers. 

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Qualified as a Training Specialist per the LANL Training Staff Qualification Program (TSQP).
  • Working knowledge of the LANL learning management system (UTrain powered by Plateau), and the associated business rules.
  • Working knowledge of P781-1, Conduct of Training and the related P781 series documents.
